About Bridge Marina

Bridge Marina in Bayville, NY is looking for Marine Technicians (senior, junior and apprentice levels) to join our busy year-round shop. We are an authorized Mercury and Yamaha service center. We offer schooling for Mercury & Yamaha, a great work environment, competitive pay, and an opportunity to work for one of the most reputable marinas and shops on the north shore of Long Island.

Schedule

Bridge Marina is open year round Tuesday through Saturday from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

and Sundays from May through October.

Senior Marine Technician/Mechanic

Full-Time:   Tuesday-Saturday 8 am-4 pm year-round

Pay Scale:  $40-$50/hour depending on experience


Job responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing problems with inboard and outboard engines, marine systems, and electronics
  • Repairing all systems on boats
  • Warranty Work
  • Rigging new & pre-owned boats
  • Installing electronics & accessories
  • Sea testing boats


Job Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience as a technician in the marine industry
  • Must have own tools (computerized diagnostics tools are provided)
  • Boat operating knowledge
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Experience with Yamaha and Mercury as well as certifications in these fields is a plus

Junior Marine Technician/Mechanic

Full-Time:   Tuesday-Saturday 8 am-4 pm year-round

Pay Scale:  $25-$40/hour depending on experience


Job responsibilities include:

  • Diagnosing and repairing problems with inboard and outboard engines, marine systems, and electronics
  • Repairing all systems on boats

  • 3+ years of experience as a technician in the marine industry

Marine Mechanic Apprentice

Full-Time:   Tuesday-Saturday 8 am-4 pm year-round

Pay Scale:  $18-$25/hour depending on experience


Job Requirements:

  • Basic mechanical experience (auto or marine)
  • Boat operating knowledge
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds


Job Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical ability to utilize tools to remove and replace parts and perform basic maintenance and repairs as directed.
  • Changing simple mechanical parts, batteries, spark plugs, filters, propellers, and similar under supervision and ultimately independently.
  • Basic maintenance projects including oil changes, fluids exchanges, and similar under supervision and ultimately independently.
  • Cleaning, buffing, bottom painting of fiberglass and aluminum boats.
  • Moving, hauling, launching, blocking, trailering of boats under supervision of others and ultimately independently.
  • Cleaning and organization skills for maintaining boats, including awareness and precaution to keep boats clean.
  • Ability to strictly adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Follow strategies, policies and procedures as directed.
  • Reporting of missing or low inventory or shortages of materials.
  • Complete assigned work: always seeking to understand expectations of work and follow through.
  • Complete and submit work recorders, notes, changes in work and report to technician and managers.
  • Learn new techniques, procedures, and how to proactively identify problems.
  • Ensure work area, tools and equipment are maintained and in good repair and in proper condition after all work.
  • Use and maintain company vehicles and equipment to the highest standard.


Auto Mechanic --> Marine Mechanic Apprentice

We are also will to hire and train an experienced Auto-Mechanic interested in transitioning/learning Marine Mechanics.  Full-time employment opportunity - $20-$29/hour depending on experience
